Paul Doody's career really started professionally in 1996 when he won the grand final of Tv’ hit show ‘Stars In Their Eyes’ as Wet Wet Wet frontman Marti Pellow with a staggering 178,000 votes and a TV audience of 12 Million, the largest of its time.
Following his massive success on the show the work the work as Marti escalated and Paul found himself performing to sellout shows 4/5 times a week Nationally and internationally and is still tributing Marti now 21 years on. In fact, Paul is the only tribute to Marti you will find.
Due to his win on the show Paul has sang Live on numerous TV programmes such as Big Breakfast, This Morning, All Rise (with Julian Clary) and GMTV to name but a few.
He has worked along-side Stars including, Joe Pasquale, Edwin Starr, The Drifters and Brian Conley, impressive quotes from DJ Chris Evans on radio 1 who said that ‘Paul was a brilliant vocalist with a magnificent voice and more like Marti than Marti!’
The Doody's! - As well as performing as his tribute he also has many shows as himself and more recently 2 hugely popular Tribute shows with his wife, renowned vocalist Jodie Doody- ‘Blues Brothers Unique’ and ‘Night at The Movies’.
Jodie is a classically trained vocalist, dancer and actress, Jodie has been performing since 6 years old in many different top shows, theatres and others, TV commercials and modelling for various top brands, totalling up 30 years in the entertainment business.
A pupil of Sylvia Young, dance trained at The Deborah Capon school, classically and musically trained by Pamela Burns with Guildhall School of Music and Trinity College and professionally trained Flamenco Dancer with the Spanish Dance Society. Jodie has performed both nationally and internationally as a vocalist and dancer including West End Theatres such as The London Palladium, Saddlers Wells and others. Her favourite roll to date has to be playing Nancy in Oliver opposite none other than Ron Moody himself as Fagin, his last ever running show as the iconic part.
Away from theatre land, Jodie has been on the gigging circuit for 20 years providing many different shows, including 50’s to 80’s decade shows with stunning costumes, the Tribute shows, Katherine Jenkins and Shania Twain and more recently enjoying the great success of her new Tribute shows along side her equally talented Husband, Paul Doody who won the grand final of ‘stars in their eyes!’ In 96, ‘Blues Brothers Unique’ and ‘night at the movies!’
